1999 – After a successful International corporate career, Deepa (an Engineer) and Rajnarayan (a Chartered Accountant) relocated to Chennai to stay with parents and to give their daughter an Indian educational experience. The next few years saw them discussing and exchanging notes on the education scene in Chennai. Often, they heard parents say “My child is struggling with Math”, or “My son does well in most subjects, but when it comes to Math, he is very anxious”, or “My daughter is afraid of Math”.
2009 – This is when Deepa and Rajnarayan decided “Let’s do something to address these problems faced by children” and Vidhyapika was established. Since then, Vidhyapika provides children an enjoyable experience in learning Math. At Vidhyapika, Learning is made easy in a cheerful environment where children can be themselves - asking questions without inhibitions and learning through fun and games.
2020 – Covid 19, a pandemic disrupting daily routines and posing huge risks to the health of people and children in specific, has posed some challenges to conventional classroom learning. Vidhyapika started the academic year 2020-2021 in April through online classroom sessions. These sessions have been well received by students and parents and has been very successful. Moving forward, all classroom sessions will be conducted online.
2022 – While the covid scare has receded (thankfully), we belive that online education is here to stay. With online classes we are able to help students who are located far and wide. Children from countries like Qatar, Singapore and from places like Coimbatore, Tiruvannamalai, Pudukottai to name a few are now able to benefit from classes at Vidhyapika.
FACULTY
Deepa is a founding member of Vidhyapika. She holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu). Before starting Vidhyapika, Deepa had more than 17 years of work experience with large MNCs in India and abroad. Deepa has been teaching Math for more than 10 years now at Vidhyapika.
FACULTY
Raj is a founding member of Vidhyapika. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Vivekanda College, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. Before starting Vidhyapika, Raj had more than 20 years of work experience with various companies in India and abroad. Raj has been teaching Math for more than 10 years now at Vidhyapika.
Concepts and application of concepts are taught in classroom sessions. Children spend 10 to 20 minutes every day practicing sums through online worksheets.
Classroom sessions from this academic year (2023-2024) will be conducted both online and offline.

Learning math is a continuous process. Every step is important and it is imperative to master it before moving on to the next. Good mathematical skills can only be built upon a strong foundation of fundamentals.
Introducing this systematic approach early ensures that children don’t develop ‘Math Phobia’ or the fear of math. A strong foundation in math is the best gift you can give your child- this will help them appreciate math in the years to come.
'All work and no play make Jack a dull boy’. We believe that learning is maximized when it is fun. At Vidhyapika, children get to solve puzzles, play games based on math that helps them understand that math can be fun too.
Often, we write off mistakes in math and attribute them to silly or careless mistakes. Too many of these mistakes may actually indicate lack of understanding of the concept or a lack of practice in that concept. At Vidhyapika, we provide the environment to address both these issues, Children here will get a deeper understanding of the concept and also get plenty of opportunities to practice the concept.
Many a times, we find that children are unable to complete their tests on time. Arithmetic operations are still done on fingers- this is a slow process which leaves them inadequate time to complete tests. With the help of techniques and shortcuts taught at Vidhyapika, they will be able to do arithmetic operations mentally, giving them plenty of time to complete and verify their answers. The speed also gives them the opportunity to focus on new concepts rather than focusing on the calculations.

One year ago both my children hated maths but today thanks to Vidhyapika and Deepa's effort they love maths and are doing very well in their classes in Maths.
The methodology used by Vidhyapika to teach children is excellent, i have found that there is a vast improvement in my son's performance in Science after joining Vidhyapika.

Good evening Sir This is regarding the classes for my younger daughter Hasini (4 th standard ) the day zoom classes started she was quite excited yesterday class on multiplication trick was so fascinating for her she said she couldn’t believe it was 1 hour session was so interesting and wanted to continue for some more time also she taught me those today in afternoon exactly the words and the way u hav taught as so well been helpful and had got registered in her mind we r always so grateful to u and Deepa Mam sir🙏 I thought I should definitely pen this down to u Both for the efforts and so much interest u bring in the children and ur patience hats off sir Thanking alone won’t be enough I think Thank u indeed looking forward for more guided years with u and Mam sir Thanks a ton😊 Do tell Deepa Mam our wishes
